Make Dental Health Your New Year’s Resolution

Happy New Year!   If you’re looking to start 2018 off right, how about a New Year’s resolution to keep your kids’ teeth healthy.  It’s easier than you think.  Here are some tips to help you:

  • Brush and floss at the same time each day.  People do better when they make healthy choices a habit.  Have your kids brush and floss at the same time each day, preferably after meals.  This will help them establish the best practice against tooth decay: preventative cleaning.
  • Reduce your sugar intake.  Resolve to cut back on sugar and feel health benefits for your entire body, including your teeth.  Limiting things like juice and candy can go a long way towards this goal.
  • Know what to do in case of a dental emergency.  We’ve got a handy list of what to do in case of dental emergencies that should help you in many common situations.
  • Schedule dental cleanings twice a year.  As your local pediatric dentist in Tucson, we’d much rather clean healthy teeth than perform procedures.  Checking your kids’ teeth twice a year gives us a chance to give you personalized tips on how to avoid common dental ailments.

As your child’s pediatric dentist in Tucson, we want to take care of all your children’s dental needs.  If you have any questions, feel free to call us at (520) 544-8522.
