When to Make a Pediatric Dental Appointment

As adults, we’re told to see the dentist twice a year.  But what about children?

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry states your child should see the dentist every 6 months.  That’s because pediatric dentists work at preventing many dental problems in children, and a twice yearly check-up will more likely catch dental problems before they require more invasive treatments.

You may think you don’t need to schedule an appointment for kids with baby teeth.  Their permanent teeth haven’t grown in, so it’s no big deal, right?  Actually, you should see a dentist around your child’s first birthday.  That’s because cavities can form at any age, and those problems can impact the health of permanent teeth.

As your child’s pediatric dentist in Tucson, we want to take care of all your children’s dental needs.  If you have any questions, feel free to call us at (520) 544-8522.
