What to Expect at Your Child’s First Dentist Appointment

Welcome new patients!  We get a lot of questions about what to expect at your first pediatric dental appointment.  The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that you visit a dentist by the time they turn 1 year old.

Here’s what to expect when you visit our office:

  • Welcoming environment.  We know that visiting a doctor or dentist can be intimidating for kids and parents alike, so we make our office as welcoming as possible.  Enjoy the comfort of the waiting room and the bright colors of our dental bays.
  • Encouraging questions.  We hope you come prepared with questions.  We are here to put you and your child at ease and will take our time to go over all your concerns.
  • Reviewing dental history.  We’ll also ask you questions about your child’s dental history.  We take all the information to give him or her our best care.
  • Demonstrating good dental hygiene.  The real work of taking care of your teeth happens at home, so we’ll make sure you know all the brushing, flossing, and other dental care techniques to help your child’s mouth stay health.

As your child’s pediatric dentist in Tucson, we want to serve all your child’s dental needs.  If you have any questions for our office, feel free to call us at (520) 544-8522.
