Baby's First Tooth

If you are a new parent, you're looking forward to many milestones: first smile, smile word, first crawl.  As pediatric dentists, we look forward to seeing a child's first tooth.

Those first teeth usually erupt around 6 to 8 months old and are called primary teeth. You generally see the two front bottom teeth (lower central incisors) first, followed by the two front top teeth (upper central incisors).  By the time your bundle of joy is 3 years old, they should have all 20 primary teeth. Permanent teeth won't start appearing until your kid turns 6 years old.

As your child's pediatric dentist in Tucson, we want to support our Tucson community.  If you have any questions for our office, feel free to call us at (520) 544-8522.
